Very nice trekking poles. It’s 3 pieces of tubing, has wire cord that hold sections together. Like other reviews pull up on handle to lock poles in place. There’s a push button that needs to pop out. To close push that same button in to collapse poles. Nice and sturdy , I wouldn’t put full weight on these. I use to stabilize my walking when going through a stream with slimy rocks, uneven hiking path. Has a round disc guard. Take off bottom cap(under cap is a metal poking peg, put on disc and replace bottom cap. I clips on a safety whistle, to scare off wildlife. I bought another pair, I liked them that much. Got the blue.

Feels solid. My only complaint is that it really needs instruction. I almost returned it until I read the other reviews to find out how to lock the pieces in place. Pretty simple but not obvious. My only advice to people who are buying it is read the assembly instruction in the listing. It’s way further down. So scroll down to read.

At first I thought we received an item that didn’t work.But since there were no directions, it took time to figure out how to lock the stick into place. It’s actually very easy to assemble. Especially if you’re already familiar with a product like this. It’s collapsed into 3 separate parts so the 5 section description is a little misleading. However I assume it’s because there are 2 removable small parts? Also, very fast shipping!!

it’s not 5 sections, only three. Took a while to figure out how it works. it’s by pulling the handle or top section all the way up to expose the lock, then click and locked. no adjustment of length, but it worked for me.

I ordered two sticks. They are great they go together easily. You have to pull all the way up to get the button to come out to make them tight in case you’ve never put these together before I chose the turquoise blue and I love it.
